What Can You Expect from Treatment with Reveal?
A health-first, clinician-guided treatment plan
Your local Reveal doctor will check the health of your teeth and gums and let you know if you’re a good candidate for Reveal aligners.
After you agree to proceed with treatment, your doctor will take photos and records of your smile. Some doctors use 3D scanning technology, while others prefer to use traditional dental impressions. Both methods work equally well for Reveal.
Your doctor will upload your records to our secure treatment management system and generate the treatment plan. We will begin fabricating your aligners at our Henry Schein Orthodontics lab.
Wearing Your Reveal Aligners
You can (and should!) start wearing your aligners as soon as you get them. Each set of trays should be worn for two weeks before moving on to the next set. Wear your aligners for at least 22 hours per day.
Plan to see your doctor at least once every six to eight weeks. Your doctor will check your progress at these appointments and let you know if you can proceed with your next few sets of aligners.
It’s normal to feel some tightness or mild discomfort for a couple of days every time you switch to a new set of aligners. That’s how you know your teeth are moving.
Many dental professionals now provide some kind of virtual treatment monitoring service. Ask your local Reveal doctor if they can do a remote consultation for your Reveal treatment.
A key benefit of seeing your doctor for aligner treatment: If you have a dental emergency, your local doctor can provide personalized help and advice much faster than a remote dentist you’ve never met.
How Long Is Your Treatment?
Reveal treatment times may range from 2–15 months. Many cases are completed in less than six months.
Treatment time varies from patient to patient. It all depends on how complex your case is and how fast your teeth can move. You should start seeing a change in your smile within just a few weeks of beginning your Reveal treatment.
Remember to save your progress by wearing your retainer after your treatment is done! Your Reveal treatment plan includes one custom-made orthodontic retainer.
Caring for Your Reveal Aligners
Reveal aligners are stain-resistant, so caring for them is a breeze. Take your aligners out when you eat and brush and rinse them daily. You can use your toothbrush to clean them, but avoid using an abrasive toothpaste.
